Instagram Live Shop Feature Will Be Removed on March 16

Instagram, owned by Meta, has recently announced the removal of their popular live Shop tab come March 16. This feature, which was first introduced in 2020, enabled creators to tag products and links in their live videos, providing them with a way to drive traffic to their online stores.

Instagram has decided to roll back the Shop tab in order to keep its platform focused on content and engagement. While this feature will no longer be available, other live broadcasting features, such as scheduling a broadcast, inviting guests to join, and conducting a live Q&A session, will remain.

The removal of the Shop tab will likely have an impact on those who used it to drive traffic to their online stores. To help compensate, Instagram has announced that they will be introducing new tools to help creators with their online stores.

Instagram had initially announced the removal of the Shop tab feature in February but gave no indication as to when it would be removed. It appears that March 16 will be the official date for the rollback of the Shop tab feature.

Instagram's decision to remove the Shop tab was likely made in order to keep its platform focused on content and engagement. Although this feature will no longer be available, the platform will still offer other live broadcasting features to help creators engage with their audience.
