Phasmophobia's New Hotfix Overcomes Ascension Update's Audio and Smudge Stick Challenges
- 20 Aug, 2023
Phasmophobia, a popular ghost-hunting simulator, has released a hotfix to resolve problems that arose following its eagerly awaited Ascension update earlier this week. The new update, which was mostly welcomed by the gaming community, introduced a refreshed leveling system but eradicated players' progression, items, and virtual bank balance. The launch was soured by a few issues such as performance glitches and an issue with the falloff volume of ghosts making games more challenging.
In response to feedback from players, Kinetic promptly produced fixes for those issues. Some alterations include converting the Tier 3 lighter from a consumable to a non-consumable item, and ensuring the T3 crucifix now has the correct 5-meter radius. The Incense hunt effect duration, previously known as Smudge Sticks and an issue for many players following the update, has also been corrected.
While the hotfix does not fully rectify the performance issues, Kinetic temporarily disabled the VR social screen mode due to serious issues and enhanced the performance of the main menu and data saving and loading process.
