Grandia HD Collection releases on PS4, Xbox One later this month

Fans of classic RPGs have exciting news as the Grandia HD Collection, which includes Grandia and Grandia 2, is set to launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this month. This collection already made its debut on the Nintendo Switch and PC in 2019, where it was offered as a bundle, unlike Steam, where the games were released separately.

The console versions, much like the Switch edition, will be available both digitally and physically through Limited Run Games. Additionally, these games will be playable on newer consoles, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as confirmed by the publisher, Gungho Online Entertainment.

The HD upgrades for both titles feature several enhancements, including improved UI, sprite works, textures, cinematics, and support for widescreen resolution. Players can also look forward to diverse audio options, providing both Japanese and English voiceovers and extensive language support encompassing English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (both simplified and traditional).

The slated release date for the PS4 and Xbox One editions is 26th March, with pre-orders for the physical copies kicking off on 15th March.

Reflecting on the enjoyment that Grandia and Grandia 2 have brought to fans, Matthew Reynolds shared his personal experience with these titles. He highlighted that while they might not be at the pinnacle of role-playing games, they embody much of the allure that makes the genre so captivating. These games invite players into a world of exotic locations begging to be explored and mysteries waiting to be unraveled. At the core of these adventures is the thrill of combat, which acts as the driving force through the narrative.

As the Grandia HD Collection makes its way to new platforms, both long-time fans and newcomers alike have the opportunity to immerse themselves in these beloved tales, now with the benefit of modern gaming technology.
