Celebrating 40 Years of Tetris: A Nostalgic Handheld Console Launch and Classic Collection Release
- 21 Feb, 2025

As the iconic puzzle game approaches its 40th anniversary in 2025, Tetris remains cherished by countless individuals. At first, created in the challenging environment of the Soviet Union, it found monumental success on the Game Boy, thanks to an exceptional version from Nintendo that introduced a wider audience to this timeless classic.
To celebrate this significant milestone, a company has unveiled Tetris Forever, which was made available for PC and consoles last year. This collection featured over 15 classic Tetris titles, many of which had never previously reached audiences in the West. Additionally, it included a documentary that delves into the history of this beloved game. However, the celebrations do not end there; an exciting new product has been announced.
The forthcoming release is a handheld console that is designed to be reminiscent of the Game Boy, crafted by Clear River Games. It will retail for €139.99 (approximately £112) and will include both the Famicom version of Tetris and Tetris 2 + BomBliss. Fans can also expect some special bonus items that will enhance their experience. Pre-orders for this nostalgic device will commence on February 25, exclusively through the Atari website.
